PRICE OF LANCER 2.0 GT TO GO UP?

Mitsu.News - www.mitsupg.com - 15th February 2008 - We have received news from one of our reliable source regarding of an imminent increase in price for Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT. As we probe further, it seems that the current price of Lancer 2.0 GT is only an introductionary price and thus, customers will have to pay more if they want to own a Lancer in near future.

One of the Lancer enthusiast has highlighted the fact that a Lancer GT is more costly in Singapore than in Malaysia and it is about time for the principal to re-evaluate its pricing. Even though with the price increase, which is estimated to be around RM 7,000 to RM 8,000, it will still be cheaper to own a Lancer GT here compare to those living the Republic down south.

Even so this is the case, one of the prospective customer found in a showroom looking at a Lancer GLS has voiced his displeasure at the way the principal has managed the marketting of Lancer.

"First, there is not enough of stock after launch. Then came this GLS spec and later, we were told the price of GT is going up soon. We won't know what will happen somemore and what suprise *** will give us," lamented Mr. Chua.

When we tried to approach one Sales Manager for his opinion on this increase of price, he just shook his head and refused to comment anymore.

"Everything is not finalised yet. We are still in the process of clearing our bookings which were made in August and September," we were being told by the SM.

It seems that increase in price is imminent as most showrooms in Northern Malaysia has sold out their GT stocks and new bookings are still being collected by Sales Consultant. There are still alot of customers who felt that this is the one Dream Car for them regardless of the price. It seems that at last, Lancer has managed to break into the world of luxury sedans occupied by Honda and Toyota all these while and it may not be a bad news for car owners after all.
